Board Certified Oral Surgeon Dr. Cameron Cavola
Dr. Cameron Cavola was born in Los Angeles, California, and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. He graduated summa cum laude from the University of Georgia in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. In 2008, Dr. Cavola earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) degree, graduating magna cum laude from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, where he was inducted into the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon national dental honor society.
Beginning in 2008, Dr. Cavola pursued advanced training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He earned his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans in 2011 and completed a General Surgery internship in 2012. In 2014, he served as Chief Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Resident at the Medical Center of Louisiana, New Orleans.
As a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Dr. Cavola practices the full scope of his specialty, including trauma care, temporomandibular joint surgery, reconstructive jaw surgery, and dentoalveolar surgery. He is an active member of several professional organizations, including the North Carolina Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Dental Association, and the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
Dr. Cavola is dedicated to giving back to his community. He volunteers as adjunct faculty at the UNC School of Dentistry Oral Surgery Clinic, where he mentors and teaches dental students. Additionally, he provides care through Wake Smiles, a local non-profit that helps patients without insurance or means of payment receive essential dental services.
Outside his professional commitments, Dr. Cavola enjoys traveling with his wife, Lyndsey, and their two daughters, Scarlett and Elle.
